Short history
1999.
Eurocable Group d.o.o. was founded as a company for the trade and distribution of electrical cables, with Ernest Tolj as its sole founder. The initial focus was on providing high-quality solutions in the field of electrical installations and cable distribution.
2002.
The company began its own production in Zagreb, at the Jankomir location. With the introduction of installation wire manufacturing, it achieved an annual production capacity of 12,000 tons, laying the groundwork for further development and expansion of production capabilities.
2004.
The production program was expanded at the Jankomir site in Zagreb to include power cables for voltages up to 1 kV. This development enabled an increase in annual capacity to 20,000 tons, allowing broader market access and greater manufacturing flexibility.
2011.
A greenfield investment was made in building a new, modern factory in Jakovlje, which included relocating production to the new site. This marked a significant increase in production capacity and a broader product range. The company introduced in-house production of PVC granules and 8 mm copper wire from cathodes, and expanded its offering to include cables with larger conductor cross-sections and shielded cables. As a result, annual production capacity increased to 30,000 tons.
2017.
The Construction Products Regulation (CPR) was implemented, standardizing technical requirements for products in the construction industry and ensuring compliance with European legislation concerning the safety of buildings.
2018.
The quality management system in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 was introduced, improving all business processes with a strong focus on consistent product quality and customer satisfaction.
2022.
The environmental management system in accordance with ISO 14001:2015 was implemented, enabling a more sustainable approach to business and manufacturing. The goal was to reduce environmental impact by improving processes and decreasing resource consumption.
2024.
The occupational health and safety management system based on ISO 45001:2018 was introduced, establishing high standards for the protection of employee health and safety. This system enables risk identification and the implementation of preventive measures to ensure a safe working environment. These key milestones reflect our ongoing commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainability, positioning us as a leader in the electrical installation and power cable industry.
2025.
The implementation of the ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) strategy has begun, marking a crucial step toward sustainable business practices focused on environmental protection, social responsibility, and high corporate governance standards. As part of this initiative, the company’s carbon footprint has been calculated, laying the foundation for future sustainability reporting. This process is preparing our company to develop sustainability reports in accordance with the EU taxonomy, which will enable transparent presentation of the environmental, social, and governance aspects of our operations. Through these efforts, we reaffirm our commitment to sustainable development and compliance with the latest European regulatory requirements.
